  1. Dubois Flights to Pittsburgh and Baltimore

Well, that's a big pile of BS. I've never checked luggage and hope I never have to. My theory is if it doesn't fit into a carry-on sized bag, then I don't need it.
  2. Dubois Flights to Pittsburgh and Baltimore

That cannot be true. Usually baggage claims are outside of the security areas. You'd have to be re-screened. It would take too much time and effort than what it's worth.
  3. Dubois Flights to Pittsburgh and Baltimore

BWI has a light rail service that takes you into downtown. Cost is about $4-5 round trip. You can take PATransit from Pittsburgh International into downtown for $2.50 one way.
  4. Dubois Flights to Pittsburgh and Baltimore

I've heard a few bad stories about the BWI leg. Cancelled flights being the issue. Nonetheless, I planned a day trip to Baltimore to meet up with friends at an Orioles game. Flying down on a Saturday morning and back Sunday at 2pm. Let's see how it goes. Here is a link to book online: https://iflysouthern.com/
  5. Mustard and Ketchup

True. What used to work with the store manager yesterday, works with the retailer's buyer today.
  6. Mustard and Ketchup

It's how the retail world works. Every inch of a store has a dollar value. To get your product on the shelf, you need to pay for that space. If a category leader doesn't want you in that space, they will buy up more shelf space at a higher slot value than which was offered to assure themselves that competition will not invade that space. Hence why there is several facings of Heinz ketchup and not many of the other brands.
  7. Mustard and Ketchup

Wish it were that easy. Instead, it's a world of kickbacks and opening wallets.
  8. Mustard and Ketchup

You won't see French's ketchup at Giant Eagle since Heinz is in their back pocket.
  9. Mustard and Ketchup

French's discontinued the glass jars, as did other manufacturers, for several reasons. Cost, damages and consumer preference were the top factors. Glass is much more expensive to produce. They arrived at retailers broke and consumers prefer to squirt their condiments onto their sammiches instead of dirtying a knife/spoon. I know this is blasphemy in Western PA, but French's has a really good ketchup. It's major difference to Heinz is that it's all natural and does not contain HFCS. Taste is almost exact! Walmart sells is and I'm working on getting it back on shelves at Ahold (i.e. Martin's). In related news, French's was just purchased by McCormick yesterday! This should open up more opportunity for cross marketing promotions with French's mustard and Frank's RedHot Sauce.
  10. So, Dunkins is coming...

Dunkin is great for their coffee and their breakfast sammiches. I think it will impact Scotty's because of the drive-thru and a less obnoxious parking lot. Consumers are more inclined to choose convenience and selection...Dunkin has both. DD's location will allow them to capture TL and Interstate traffic.
  11. Straub Brewery in St. Marys won three medals

Congratulations to Straub's!! I've never been a fan, but lately (past 2 years) they have introduced a few beers that have impressed me. Pennsylvania has a lot to offer when it comes to craft beer. Collusion, Ever Grain, Zeroday, Hitchhiker, Voodoo, Spoonwood, Noble Stein are a few of my favorite PA breweries. Although, I could go on and on.
  12. Marine A KC-130 Plane Crash 16 Dead

I saw a fighter jet being refueled above Reynoldsville the other day. It was interesting. Sucks to hear about these soldiers.
  13. looking for a shrink

I use this and Straub to cure irregularity.
  14. The Pick Is In

With this year's second pick for the open space at the new plaza across from McDonald's, the developer's select, from Massachusetts, Dunkin's Donuts (unofficially official). Not a surprise pick, but a solid performer with upside.
  15. Title is misleading. He's not a "Pirates umpire", rather he's an "MLB Umpire". Nonetheless, amazing story....can't say that I would have been as calm or knew the right words to say in that moment.
