Air Fresheners/Deodorizers:
1) Place cloves, cinnamon sticks, allspice or other favorite scented spice in a pot of water , simmer for 1-2 hours
2) Put a few slices of leftover orange or lemon rinds in a pot of water, simmer for 1-2 hours
3) Place baking soda in an open container of your choice. Good for closets, refrigerators and other small enclosed spaces
4) 2-3 slices of white bread absorbs refrigerator odors
5) Place lemon slices in an open bowl in the kitchen
6) Lemon and baking soda spray:
Dissolve baking soda in 2 cups hot water, add lemon juice, pour into spray bottle, spray into air as air freshener
7) Place unscented kitty litter placed in bowls to absorb room odors
8) Vinegar in a cup or bowl rids rooms of odors
9) Charcoal placed in a bowl rids rooms of odors
10) Simply light a match for a few moments or burn a candle (scented or unscented). The flame from either will "eat-up" bad smelling gases in the air
11) Pour vanilla extract into a shallow dish and set in an out of the way place
12) Spin-Fresh Bathroom Deodorizer
Add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil to the inside of the cardboard toilet tissue roll. With each turn, fragrance is released into the room.

Fabric Freshener or Air Freshener
2 c. warm water,  1/4 c. fabric softener(nice smell),  1 TB. soda.    Mix together and put in a empty spray bottle.  Use as any air freshener, or fabric freshener

A great room spray...
Ingredients:
•     4 oz. clean spray bottle with a fine mist setting (do not use a bottle that previously contained cleaning products or hair products such as hair spray).
•     30-40 drops of your favorite essential oil or essential oil blend keeping the safety data of the chosen essential oil(s) in mind
•     1.5 ounces of distilled water and 1.5 ounces of high-proof alcohol (vodka is suitable, isopropyl or rubbing alcohol is not). Alternatively, you may omit the alcohol and increase the amount of distilled water to 3 ounces.

The alcohol helps the aroma linger for a longer duration.
Not to mention the little party you can have afterwards with a nice smelling home!! ;-)

To deodorize rooms:  place bowls full of charcoal strategically throughout your home... you can be creative and camoflauge them so its not so obvious.  and don't buy the charcoal with the lighter fluid on it!!

To get one of my favorite smells in my house I simmer some pickling spice.

The Democrats in my family used to say " That SOB George bush is lining his pockets, thats why gas is $1.68  gallon (average price for gas in his 8 yrs), those republicans are going to bankrupt this country. Now the Dems in my family ask me if I can pick them up stuff when I go to town.

add your favorite scented oil in the filter of your air conditioners or your heater, the fan will fill your room with a constant aroma (when you have the heat on, the scent will become stronger due to the oil heating up)

Fragrant Reed Diffuser

You can refill your Reed Diffuser and save some $$$ or you can find a cool bottle and make your own.
Everclear (moonshine) and 6 drops of essential oils.
