Punxsy Man Faces Attempted Homicide Charges After Allegedly Firing AK-47 at Vehicle

March 20, 2017 6:21 pm·

54501.pngPUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – A Punxsutawney man faces attempted criminal homicide and related charges after allegedly firing an AK-47 at a vehicle with four people seated inside.

According to a criminal complaint, the Punxsutawney Borough Police Department received a call around 1:53 a.m. on Sunday, March 19, stating that 31-year-old Nathan Scott Brady, of Punxsutawney, had been in a physical altercation at a residence at 329 Oakland Avenue with his girlfriend and another woman. It was learned that Brady left the residence and that “he had gun and had been drinking throughout the night and is known to be violent.”

Officers Marshall and Clement responded to the scene to speak with the victims. Brady’s girlfriend “had signs of recent physical trauma,” the complaint states.

As the officers were gathering information, they received a call of gunshots being fired at 606 Sutton Street.

As officers were traveling to 606 Sutton Street, they were waved down by four individuals standing beside the gas pumps at the West End Unimart. They stated that they had been shot at by Nathan Brady, the complaint continues.

While speaking with Tron Rex Fetterman, Kenneth Patrick Long, Jeremy Alan Munger, and Michelle Christi Parise, Officer Marshall observed what appeared to be bullet holes on the driver’s side of Fetterman’s vehicle, the complaint indicates.

Officers learned that the victims were at Nathan’s residence, and a verbal altercation ensued. Long and Munger entered the residence, and Brady retreated into a dark room. The two men left the residence and back into Tron’s vehicle. At this time, “Brady exited his residence and discharged his semi-automatic AK-47 in the direction of Tron’s vehicle and struck it four times,” according to the complaint.

Officers arrested Brady at his 606 Sutton Street residence without incident.

When questioned, Brady allegedly stated that he shot two rounds into the air trying to scare off the intruders, the complaint states.

During the investigation, four spent shell casings were retrieved from the road, and a Draco-C AK-47 and two rifles were seized from Brady’s residence, the complaint indicates.

Brady was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers on the following charges:

– Criminal Attempt – Criminal Homicide (four counts)
– Criminal Homicide (intent) – (four counts)
– Aggravated Assault (four counts)
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person (five counts)
– Propel Missile Into Occupied Vehicles (four counts)

Unable to post $200,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on April 4 with Judge Chambers presiding.

What's even stupider is that he did it to himself.

if anyone would propose that gun buyers take an IQ test I would not object most the times over the years that I have seen a person cause a problem with a gun it was mostly backed by stupidity.  This guy needs a long stay in state prison

what does a druggie look like? Didn't realize they had a certain look...you shouldn't judge a book by its cover... Maybe he has mental issues or maybe he wasnt thinking when 4 guys decided to attack him.. there's so much we don't know and that's why there's judge and jury to figure it out. Think before you judge...
