According to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday, Clarion-based State Police Tpr. Huffman initiated a traffic stop along Interstate 80 eastbound Tuesday around 11:05 a.m.
A Ford Expedition with Utah registration was stopped near mile marker 60 for a traffic violation.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Robin Pollock. Police identified William Pollock as a passenger.
“I became suspicious of criminal activity and I requested consent to search the vehicle which was denied,” said Tpr. Huffman in the criminal complaint.
The criminal complaint states that a Pennsylvania State Police drug detection dog was utilized to conduct an exterior search of the vehicle. The dog detected an odor indicating drugs were present, according to the criminal complaint.
A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered four large black “hockey bags” that contained approximately 153 pounds of marijuana.
Robin and William Pollock were arraigned before Judge Schill at 4 p.m. and placed in the Clarion County Jail after failing to post $50,000 cash bail each.
They face preliminary hearings on May 23 at 3 p.m. with Judge Schill presiding.
